Shannon Tallent

Shannon brings to the table almost 20 years of multi- industry Human Resources (HR) experience working with apartment management companies, trucking companies, veterinarian offices, pharmacies and many other businesses.  Her HR career began while working for a Professional Employer Organization (PEO) administering benefits and recruiting for small-to-medium sized businesses.

After almost 7 years in the PEO business, Shannon joined a multi-state, multi-location pharmacy chain as their first in-house HR Manager. Shannon expanded the HR department by creating, implementing and overseeing processes and programs such as new hire paperwork, background reviews, drug screens, payroll, 401(k), benefits and employee relations issues.  As the business grew, she managed a HR department of 3-4 team members and approximately 550 total pharmacy employees.  Her focus was to ensure the HR needs of Senior Leadership, Pharmacy Managers and team members were efficiently met, allowing them to remain focused on the patients. Throughout her many years working at the Director level, Shannon has led the HR aspects of several pharmacy acquisitions, divestitures and two transactions with Private Equity groups. She has experience with merging company cultures and bringing teams together, creating a collaborative work environment and positive employee experience. 

 

Shannon is a native of South Carolina and grew up in Columbia. She has an undergraduate degree in Marine Science from Coastal Carolina University and an MBA from the University of South Carolina. Shannon is a 2013 graduate for the Columbia Chamber of Commerce Leadership Columbia and has served on the board for The Mental Illness Recovery Center (MIRCI) for 6 years. Currently she resides in Lexington, SC with her husband and two girls.
